Just three years ago, Avicii was remixing stadium-fillers Coldplay. Now he’s producing for them. The 24-year-old otherwise known as Tim Bergling recently landed a dream job, collaborating with the band on a single from its upcoming album, Ghost Stories.
Entitled “A Sky Full Of Stars”, the Bergling-produced track has his unmistakeable melodic sensibilities, with sweeping piano and a euphoric build. Carried by the distinctive vocals of front man Chris Martin, “A Sky Full Of Stars” feels like a fitting sequel to Avicii’s 2011 remix of “Every Teardrop Is A Waterfall”.
While Coldplay’s Ghost Stories arrives in stores May 19, Bergling is already hard at work in the studio on the follow-up album to his blockbuster debut, True. After his health scare during Miami Music Week, Bergling has announced he’s “now fully recovered” and will be back behind the decks at XS Las Vegas this Friday, May 2.
Beyond the headline shows on his ‘True’ US tour, the DJ’s summer is already looking stacked. He’s headlining the UK edition of Electric Daisy Carnival in July, returning to Ibiza’s buzzed-about Ushuaïa for a residency, and making regular trips to Vegas. Take a listen to “A Sky Full Of Stars” below.
